Which majors should 2008 graduates choose to avoid having their future "stolen" by AI?
Artificial intelligence (AI) is infiltrating every corner of society. Many students worry: "After graduation, will I be replaced by machines?" If you only study to "know how to do" repetitive tasks, the answer is YES. But if you study to "understand the essence," then AI is the most powerful assistant to help you break through. For 2008 graduates, the question is no longer "Which majors are hot?", but "Which majors can be a long-term career choice for you in the AI era?". From a series of counseling sessions across provinces and cities, Dai Nam University (DNU) has compiled a "survival map" for 2008 graduates. It's not that professions are being eliminated, but rather that those who study incorrectly are being weeded out.

AI doesn't eliminate professions; AI eliminates people who learn the wrong way.
According to education and human resources experts, AI will not "eliminate" humans, but rather replace positions that are repetitive, lack critical thinking, and do not create new value. Learners who follow trends and lack a foundation will easily be left behind; conversely, those with critical thinking and adaptability will continue to play a central role.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Rector of Dai Nam University, stated: "AI processes data very quickly, but it is not responsible for the final decision. The value of a human being lies in their thinking, professional ethics, and ability to solve complex problems."
From that perspective, Dai Nam University does not encourage students to choose majors based on trends, but rather advises them based on three pillars: ability, personality, and academic performance.

Dr. Tran Dang Cong, Head of the Information Technology Department at Dai Nam University, affirmed: "Programmers who only know how to use tools will quickly be replaced. Those who survive are those who understand the structure and know how to ask the right questions for AI."

Healthcare fields such as medicine, pharmacy, and nursing remain sustainable in the long term. AI can assist in diagnosis, but medical ethics, beliefs, and decisions concerning human lives cannot be left to machines.
Associate Professor Hoang Duc Hanh - Head of the Faculty of Medicine at Dai Nam University, former Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health, believes that the more AI develops, the more stringent the requirements for competence and professional ethics of those working in the medical field become.

DNU has been involved in training high-quality human resources for the healthcare sector since 2013 with three key academic programs: Medicine, Pharmacy, and Nursing.
This group of students is dynamic, creative, has good communication skills, and possesses comprehensive thinking abilities.
Business administration, international business, logistics and supply chain management, marketing, human resource management, e-commerce, digital economy… continue to offer opportunities if students know how to combine specialized knowledge with data and technology. AI supports analysis, but strategy, human resource management, and handling market fluctuations still require the role of humans.

Language, communication, and public relations aren't disappearing; they're shifting to higher levels of value. AI can write quickly, but it's difficult to replace the ability to tell stories, understand cultural context, and connect emotionally with people.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Diu, Deputy Head of the Communication Department, affirmed: "AI writes accurately, but humans write to connect."

This group of students is inclined towards listening, supporting, and educating.
Education, psychology, and social work are fields where AI is unlikely to replace professionals, because the core of the profession lies in empathy and the ability to guide people's development.
Message from Dai Nam University's journey of accompanying 2K8 students.
Through a series of direct consultations in many provinces and cities, Dai Nam University emphasizes a consistent message: choosing the right major is not about choosing one that changes little, but about choosing one that allows learners to learn throughout their lives and continuously upgrade themselves.

Eighteen is a great time to start, but it's also the time when you need to be most discerning in your choices. When you understand yourself, understand the industry, and choose a training environment that prioritizes real value, AI will no longer be a threat, but a tool that helps each person advance faster and further on their career path.
That is also the spirit that Dai Nam University wishes to convey to the 2008 graduating class in the 2026 admissions season: choose your major based on understanding, choose your university based on its educational value, and enter university with a spirit of genuine learning, genuine work, and sustainable development.
