The 10th year Dai Nam University has had an excellent valedictorian honored by Hanoi City.

Nguyen Thanh Thao, a student of class HQ 15-03, Korean Language and Culture Department with a GPA of 3.88/4.0 - is one of the 95 excellent valedictorians who have just been honored by Hanoi City. This title marks the 10 consecutive years that Dai Nam University has had excellent valedictorians and is the result of the persistent efforts of the school's teachers and students.

Maintained an "invincible" position for 8 semesters

Right from the first year, Thao set a goal to study the foundation firmly, practice Korean to a high level and actively participate in academic playgrounds. She maintained an average score of Excellent throughout 08 semesters, ranked first in the faculty in 7/8 semesters and continuously received the Excellent encouragement scholarship with a GPA of 3.88/4.0 - a score that many people admire.

Regarding Korean proficiency, Thao also achieved TOPIK level 6 - the highest level of the Korean proficiency test. At the same time, she made her mark in a series of academic competitions: First prize in the Golden Bell 2024, Top 10 Quiz on Korea, Second - Third prize - Encouragement for scientific research from faculty to school level.

When asked about the secret to maintaining her achievements for a long time, Thao said: “I think the most important thing is to maintain study discipline. Every day I set aside a fixed amount of time for Korean, no matter how busy I am. And I am lucky to always have teachers support and give detailed advice, especially when doing scientific research.”

Grown from training activities and rich experience environment

Currently, Thao is working as a Project Leader related to the field of AI data processing at AIWORKX Vietnam - working directly with the head office in Korea every day. To take on this responsibility right after graduating, since her school days, in addition to focusing on professional development, Thao has made constant efforts in extracurricular activities and skill development.

Thao has excellently won the first prize of the Golden Bell contest season 2 organized by the Faculty of Korean Language & Culture in 2024.

Not only being the class monitor, I also hold the position of Inter-branch Committee member and always present in the big and small programs of the department and the school. Activities with the identity of the department such as Hangeul Festival, Korean Cultural Week, specialized talkshow, scientific research conference, international exchange trips... have helped me improve my skills and courage.

I also won the Bronze Prize in the Writing Contest "Famous quotes of President Ho Chi Minh on Korean calligraphy" organized by the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Resources Institute.

“Thanks to participating in many activities, I have become much more confident. Standing in front of hundreds of students to host programs or support the organization of events has made me mature faster than studying in class. I am grateful that the environment at Dai Nam has given me many opportunities to try my best and gain trust, ” Thao shared.

Sharing her study secrets, Thao affirmed that her current achievements come from three factors: self-discipline, dedicated support from lecturers, and the modern, experience-rich academic environment of Dai Nam University.

“I think if I didn’t study at Dai Nam, I would hardly have had the opportunity to participate in so many events, competitions and exchange programs. Each activity helps me improve a little bit. I am truly grateful to the teachers of the Korean Language and Culture Department for always pushing us to step out of our comfort zone.”

With her tireless efforts, Thao received a full scholarship to experience Korean culture awarded by Dai Nam University in collaboration with Dongeui University of Science and Technology.

Nguyen Thanh Thao's title of outstanding valedictorian in Hanoi is the pride of the Korean Language and Culture Department as well as the whole school, and is also a testament to the training quality of Dai Nam University - where students are inspired, given opportunities and given an environment for comprehensive development.
