Each spring, for an educational institution, it's not just about starting a new cycle of work, but about redefining goals, spirit, and responsibilities for the journey ahead. Therefore, the spring meeting between the Chairman of the School Board and key staff members is not simply a New Year's ritual, but a clear directional message: the new year will see further progress through dedication, responsibility, and a commitment to pursuing true values for the benefit of the learners.

The true test of a horse is on a long journey - Dai Nam University chooses the "difficult" but "right" path.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Le Dac Son, Chairman of the University Council, raised a pivotal issue for the existence and development of a higher education institution: without creating genuine difference and value, a school will struggle to leave its mark on society. Conversely, only by providing real value to students and the community can the school be remembered and appreciated. He used the image of the "year of the horse" as a metaphor for strategic choices: continuing on the safe, beaten path or venturing onto a different, challenging, but sustainable path.

Dai Nam University has chosen the second path, identifying OBE (Outcome-Based Education) as its strategic development axis. This is not an easy path, but it is a clear, transparent, and substantive one, proven effective in many advanced education systems.

OBE - Not a slogan, but a commitment to responsibility.

2025 marks the official launch of Dai Nam University's comprehensive and rigorous implementation of the Open Beclinical (OBE) roadmap. From 2026 onwards, OBE will become a strategic axis encompassing all of the University's training activities during the 2026-2030 period. At Dai Nam University, OBE is not simply a technical adjustment in curriculum development, but a fundamental shift in thinking: from teaching what the university has to training what learners need to live and work effectively; from a content-oriented curriculum to a learner-centered curriculum.

The implementation of OBE (One-Beginner) is carried out systematically, starting with building a competency framework based on industry practices; clearly defining the learning outcomes for each major and each course; designing detailed syllabi, teaching methods, and consistent assessment methods according to competency standards.

“In the context of increasingly rigorous higher education standards, Dai Nam University recognizes that OBE (Outstanding Academic Achievement) is only valuable when measured by the actual competence of students upon graduation, not just by the process or formality…” - Dr. Le Dac Son emphasized.

From a management perspective, OBE is not just about changing the way we teach, but about changing the way we think and take responsibility. All training activities must be geared towards tangible results for learners, all management efforts must create measurable value, and every commitment must be linked to ultimate accountability.

Unified thinking - Synchronized action: The pivotal role of the leadership team.

Emphasizing the role of leadership in implementing OBE, Dr. Le Dac Son affirmed that this is a major reform requiring discipline, courage, and a high sense of responsibility from each level of leadership, each unit, and each lecturer. The success of OBE lies not in written documents or slogans, but in the level of implementation in each training program, each course, and each class.

At the training program, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - the Rector of the University - officially accepted the responsibility and assigned the task of implementing OBE to the leadership team of the various departments. The message conveyed was clear: the OBE strategy for the 2026-2030 period is a shared commitment of the entire system, not the responsibility of any single individual or department. This was also an opportunity for the University Council, the Board of Directors, and the leaders of faculties, departments, and centers to unify their thinking, synchronize their actions, and share responsibilities, creating a solid foundation for the next phase of development.

Beyond professional content, the training program also provided a space for connection, sharing, and understanding among key leaders. Open conversations, group activities, and shared everyday moments contributed to strengthening internal cohesion, fostering trust, and promoting a spirit of collaboration. This cohesion creates intrinsic strength – a crucial factor enabling Dai Nam University to not only maintain its strategic stability but also sustain its long-term development.
