TCBC: Dai Nam University opens full-time Medical Doctor training program for international students - Course 1

Hanoi, October 10, 2025 - Dai Nam University (DNU) officially opened the "Full-time Medical Doctor Training Program for International Students - Course 1". This is the first program in Hanoi, marking an important step in the University's education internationalization strategy, while contributing to making Vietnam a potential destination in the field of international medical training.

- Time: 9:30 - 11:30, October 10, 2025.

- Location: Great hall, Lecture Hall 1, Dai Nam University - No. 1 Pho Xom, Phu Luong, Hanoi.

The opening ceremony was held solemnly, with the participation of:

- Mr. Ambassador of India to Vietnam.

- Vietnamese Ambassador to India.

- Leaders of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Training (with the presence of Deputy Ministers).

- Board of Directors of Dai Nam University, representatives of major medical facilities and hospitals in Hanoi.

- In particular, the event welcomed the presence of 200 new Indian medical students and their parents - marking an important milestone in the journey of internationalizing medical education in Vietnam.

Urgent need from India

India is facing a serious shortage of doctors: each year, more than 2.3 million candidates take the medical entrance exam but there are only 112,000 places. Meanwhile, tuition fees at private medical schools range from 8,400 to 31,000 USD/year (210 - 775 million VND), beyond the affordability of many families. Therefore, thousands of Indian students have to seek study abroad opportunities in Russia, China, and the Philippines. Vietnam, with its reasonable costs and prestigious training quality, is emerging as a sustainable choice.

Dai Nam University - Different competitive advantages

The International Medical Program at Dai Nam University is taught 100% in English, with a team of lecturers who are professors and doctors from both Vietnam and India. Students will experience: 2 years of theoretical study in the lecture hall; 4 years of clinical internship at major hospitals in Hanoi.

The highlight is the tuition fee of only 5,000 USD/year (125 million VND) - much lower than private schools in India. The school also plans to build its own hospital, creating an optimal practice environment for students.
