From its humble beginnings to a multidisciplinary training faculty: The five-year breakthrough journey of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Dai Nam University.

Established on December 22, 2020, starting from the Faculty of E-commerce and Digital Economy, after 5 years of development, the Faculty of Economics & Management – Dai Nam University has gradually expanded its scale, perfected its multidisciplinary training system, strengthened its ties with businesses, and provided practical support to its students.

In just five years since its formation and development, the Faculty of Economics & Management has established itself as a dynamic, rapidly growing, and deeply-developed training unit, pioneering the integration of training with business practices and effectively meeting the demands of the digital economy and the modern labor market.

Milestones in formation and transformation

The Faculty was established on December 22, 2020, under the name Faculty of E-commerce and Digital Economy, responsible for training students in E-commerce starting from the K15 cohort. From the very beginning, the Faculty has consistently pursued a practical training orientation, using societal needs and business requirements as important bases for developing programs, organizing learning activities, and providing career experiences for students.

Building upon that foundation, the Faculty has gradually expanded its training programs and enhanced its professional management capabilities, forming a multidisciplinary structure in line with the rapidly changing workforce needs of the labor market.

A 5-year journey of expanding the industry and perfecting the training system.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Rector, congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements of the Faculty of Economics and Management after 5 years of establishment and development.

During its development, the Faculty has recorded several important milestones:

2023: Launched the Digital Economy major, focusing on training areas such as Digital Business and Business Data Analytics, meeting the needs of digital transformation in business operations and decision-making.

Currently, the Faculty of Economics and Management offers four core majors: E-commerce, Economics, Digital Economy, and Human Resource Management, operating under the philosophy of "Practice - Real-world Application," enhancing learning through projects, business case studies, early internships, and practical career experiences.

August 2024: Expanding training programs in Economics (Investment Economics; Financial and Monetary Economics) and officially incorporating Human Resource Management, gradually completing the training structure towards a multidisciplinary approach.

October 2024: Based on the increasing number of students and 4 undergraduate programs, the Faculty officially changed its name to the Faculty of Economics & Management; and simultaneously took on the professional management of Master's and Doctoral programs in Economic Management.

Practical, hands-on training, with a learner-centered approach.

Currently, the Faculty offers training in four core majors: E-commerce, Economics, Digital Economy, and Human Resource Management. The general orientation is to enhance practical skills and professional competence for students through:

- Learning through projects, case studies, and real-world problems;

- Gain early internship and professional experience;

- Enhance professional seminars and expertise sharing from businesses.

Connecting businesses to expand job opportunities.

Alongside its training activities, the Faculty places special emphasis on signing strategic cooperation agreements with businesses in the fields of economics, finance, e-commerce, human resources, and digital business.

The cooperation agreements focus on jointly developing training programs, accepting and recruiting interns, organizing career seminars, conducting applied research, and transferring knowledge, thereby forming a closed value chain from training to practice to employment.

Alongside training, the Faculty places special emphasis on developing a network of partner businesses in the fields of economics, finance, e-commerce, human resources, and digital business. Collaborative activities focus on:

- Provide feedback and collaborate in developing training programs;

- Receiving interns and recruiting staff;

- Organizing talk shows and career workshops;

- Collaboration in applied research and knowledge transfer.

To date, the Faculty has over 40 lecturers and a network of more than 70 partner businesses, contributing to expanding learning, experience, and employment opportunities for students.

Five years – a solid foundation for the next stage.

Five years may not be a long time, but it's enough for the Faculty of Economics and Management to affirm its correct direction: practical training, closely aligned with market needs, partnership with businesses, and placing learners at the center.
