Expert Perspectives from the International Conference at Dai Nam University
AI can assist in resume screening, HR data analysis, and performance forecasting. But how should we understand work motivation, trust, internal conflict, and fairness in hiring? As technology changes the way we work, what helps people adapt and remain committed to an organization?
These issues were discussed at the international scientific conference "Organizational Psychology - Industry in the Digital Age," organized by Dai Nam University in collaboration with Hanoi University of Science and Technology on October 10, 2026. The conference brought together experts from Israel, Canada, Italy, India, China, Russia, and Vietnam, with topics including human resource data analysis, evaluation in recruitment, and the impact of AI on organizations.

Organizational and industrial psychology studies the relationship between people, their work, and organizations. Knowledge from this field provides a scientific basis for recruitment, performance evaluation, leadership development, and workplace culture building. In the context of digitalization, the combination of psychology, technology, and data raises even more questions that need answering.
The organization also needs "psychologists".
Drawing on her research experience in Germany, Dr. Phuong Nguyen, who works at Siegen University and the HAES Institute in Frankfurt, emphasizes that organizations should be viewed as living systems. People, leadership, culture, and operating mechanisms are closely interrelated. A business with modern technology and a sound strategy can still face difficulties if human-related issues are not properly identified and addressed.

According to her, Vietnam needs both tech-savvy individuals, management professionals, and "organizational psychologists"—experts capable of identifying problems, analyzing behavior, and supporting the creation of a healthy work environment. As AI develops rapidly, this capability becomes even more crucial because businesses must simultaneously innovate technologically and manage changes within their workforce.
Dr. Phuong Nguyen also expressed her admiration for the youthful, dynamic, and dedicated environment at Dai Nam University. She acknowledged the progress made by the Psychology department after approximately three years of establishment, as demonstrated through its training, research, and academic networking activities.

Technological change must go hand in hand with human change.
From a sustainable development perspective, Mr. Mai Van Huyen, Director of the Green Development Center (Green DC), highly appreciated the workshop's up-to-date content, professional quality, and interdisciplinary approach.
According to him, an organization's competitive advantage also lies in its ability to understand, empower, and connect with people. Green transformation requires changes in mindset, behavior, and organizational culture. Therefore, combining organizational psychology, digital technology, and sustainable development thinking can contribute to improved operational efficiency while promoting responsible development.
This perspective expands on the AI narrative: the effectiveness of innovation also depends on how organizations prepare and develop their teams. Technology, governance, and people need to be considered in relation to each other.

Connecting international knowledge with real-world problems.
Dr. La Linh Nga, Director of the Center for Research and Application of Psychology and Education (PPRAC), highly appreciates the opportunity for exchange between domestic and international experts. Through this, researchers and practitioners can update their knowledge and share experiences in a developing field in Vietnam.
Dr. Le Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Head of the Social Work Department at the Vietnam Youth Academy, believes that the collaboration between Dai Nam University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology contributes to promoting research and increasing the application of Organizational and Industrial Psychology. She also acknowledges the value of English-language exchanges in expanding access to international knowledge and inspiring young people.

These opinions highlight the value of the forum in both updating knowledge and connecting research with practice. Issues related to recruitment, personnel evaluation, organizational culture, and change management also highlight the need to train individuals with a scientific background, analytical thinking, and the ability to solve real-world problems.
For Dai Nam University, co-organizing the conference is an academic networking activity, bringing new issues in science and management practice into professional exchange. For students, these contents help broaden their perspective on the role and application of psychology in a changing work environment.

AI can help organizations process data faster. To translate that advantage into sustainable efficiency, personnel decisions still need to be based on understanding people, understanding the job, and understanding the organization.
This was also a recurring theme among the experts at the conference: the more technology develops, the greater the need to develop the ability to understand people.
