The world is closer to Dai Nam University students than ever before.
One morning at the Pharmacy Practice Center, Vietnamese and Chinese students stood around a laboratory table, discussing drug testing procedures. In the adjacent lecture hall, nearly 200 Indian students studying the English-taught General Practitioner program prepared for a class with Vietnamese lecturers.
These images are gradually becoming a part of daily life at Dai Nam University (DNU).
In the 2025-2026 academic year alone, the university welcomed 113 international students from the United States, South Korea, and China to participate in study, exchange, and internship programs. Along with nearly 200 Indian students currently studying the General Medicine program in English, there are now over 300 international students studying at Dai Nam University in various forms.
These figures reflect a clear direction for the University in its internationalization strategy: bringing a global learning environment closer to students right here in Vietnam.
Internationalization through authentic learning experiences.
Recently, a delegation of lecturers and students from Guangxi University of Science and Technology (China) participated in a 10-day study and exchange program at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dai Nam University.
In addition to specialized subjects, students gain hands-on experience in laboratory facilities, visit pharmaceutical manufacturing companies and pharmacy chains, and learn about the research, production, and testing processes of pharmaceuticals in Vietnam. This is combined with cultural experiences in Hanoi and Ninh Binh.
The program's uniqueness lies not in its duration or the number of modules, but in the fact that students from both countries study, practice, and exchange expertise and culture together in a shared learning environment. These experiences contribute to the development of integration skills right from the classroom.
International cooperation must create value for learners.
According to Dai Nam University, internationalization should not be measured by the number of partners or cooperation agreements.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, the University will welcome 25 students from Chungbuk National University (South Korea), 79 students from Guangxi Foreign Language Institute, 6 students from Guangxi University of Science and Technology (China), and 3 students from the University of Utah (USA) for study, exchange, and internships. Conversely, Dai Nam University students will also have the opportunity to participate in study programs in South Korea and paid internships in Japan.
Academic flows are open in both directions, allowing international students to experience the educational environment in Vietnam while also providing opportunities for Dai Nam University students to access professional standards in a global environment.
Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thi Thu Giang - Rector of Dai Nam University, stated: " Internationalization is only truly meaningful when each collaborative program helps students grow. We want Dai Nam University students to study in an international environment from the moment they are in university; and at the same time, for international students to experience the quality of training, the dedication of the teaching staff, and the positive values of Vietnamese education."
One lecture hall, many countries, one common goal.
In the context of higher education increasingly integrated with the international community, the competitive advantage of a university lies not only in its curriculum or facilities, but also in its ability to build a multicultural learning environment where students have access to diverse knowledge systems, perspectives, and professional standards.
That is also the direction that Dai Nam University is pursuing.
When Vietnamese students study alongside Chinese students, Indian students study in Vietnam, or Dai Nam University students go to South Korea and Japan for study and internships and then return to share their experiences, internationalization is no longer a strategic concept but becomes a tangible experience in every classroom.
For Dai Nam University, the ultimate goal of internationalization is not just to expand cooperation networks, but to create more opportunities for each student to study in a global environment, develop integration skills, and be ready to become citizens capable of working in an increasingly connected world.
