The first graduating doctors from Dai Nam University have been accepted into the residency program at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Thai Nguyen University.

Of these, seven have been accepted into the residency program at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy - Thai Nguyen University. The remaining students are diligently studying for the entrance exam, hoping to be accepted into residency programs at universities with a long tradition of medical training.

Dai Nam University is a private university based in Hanoi. The university admitted its first cohort of medical students in 2020 (but this was the 14th time the university had admitted students), with 105 students successfully enrolling and confirming their studies.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Hoang Duc Hanh, Head of the Faculty of Medicine, Dai Nam University, stated that the medical training program for the 2020-2026 academic year is built according to the CDIO standard, developed based on the basic competency standards for medical doctors issued by the Ministry of Health in 2014. The program is designed for 6 academic years, with a total of 209 credits (excluding 14 credits for physical education and national defense and security education).

The professional education curriculum comprises 146 credits, including 31 credits of foundational knowledge in the field and 115 credits of specialized knowledge. Notably, core clinical courses including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and pediatrics account for a large proportion, totaling 79 credits.

The school has signed cooperation agreements and organized training at 21 major hospitals. The entire course consists of 27 clinical practice modules. Students begin experiencing the hospital environment from their second year. Notably, students are assigned by the hospitals to participate in on-call shifts outside of regular working hours in groups.

For the graduation internship module, students are guided to choose one of four specialties (internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics) and are assigned a 10-week intensive internship at Vinh Phuc General Hospital, Phu Tho General Hospital, and Phu Tho Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in a one-doctor-one-student format.

In the northern region, before Dai Nam University, there is Hanoi University of Business and Technology and VinUni University. Following them is Phenikaa University… Except for VinUni University, which has exceptionally high entrance requirements, the other three universities all set their admission scores at or below the minimum score set by the Ministry of Education and Training for medical programs at public universities.
