Nguyen Minh Anh, a 12th grader at Phung Khac Khoan High School, said: “I thought it was just for fun, but I didn’t expect it to be so engaging. The soft skills camp completely changed the way I communicate and work in groups. All the activities were practical, the instructors were young and enthusiastic, creating the feeling of learning while playing, playing while learning.”

By stepping into the shoes of university students and taking part in skill-development activities right in the lecture halls, high school students not only experience a dynamic learning environment but also gain the opportunity to discover themselves.

Many students, after a “camping” session, began to see university through a different lens: not just a place to study, but a place to live and grow. They realized that what they should look for is not the reputation of the school, but a place that allows them to be themselves – to be trained, developed and understood.

Tran Hoang Long, a student at Maple Leaf Academy High School, shared: “At Dai Nam, I feel encouraged to express myself. I think that we now go to school not only for grades, but also for a comprehensive and inspiring educational environment like this.”

The biggest difference of Dai Nam University’s soft skills camp is that it does not stop at the usual connection games. This is a model designed with depth – from positive thinking, communication, teamwork, to presentation, emotional handling… These are important pieces that Dai Nam University identifies as “life luggage” for students.

Teaching soft skills seriously as a discipline

Few people know that Dai Nam University is one of the few universities in Vietnam that has a Faculty of Soft Skills Training and Development - a unit specializing in designing and implementing skill training programs for students right from the first year.

MSc. Nguyen Thi Thuy - Head of the department shared: " We do not teach students just to know how to work. We train them to be able to work and live decently."

Parents are also conquered

Ms. Le Thu Huong, parent of a student at Phung Khac Khoan High School, said after seeing her child participate in the camp: “When my child came home, he was much happier, telling stories about making new friends, and speaking confidently. I am very happy to see that my child learned how to communicate, cooperate, and express himself in a positive and oriented way.”
