Building a tradition of university giving: The experience of Hong Kong University

The prestigious universities of the United States are often known as the standard of excellence, partly due to their strong resources. An important part of these resources comes from Endowment Funds contributed by all sectors of society, especially alumni. Harvard University currently tops the list of universities with the largest Endowment Funds with 32.33 billion USD (as of June 30, 2013), followed by Yale with 20 billion.
